RAILNET Albany, Ga; June 1999. Helm had just purchased these SW1500 with Flexicoil trucks from the
hurting Apalachicola Northern. In March of 1999, Railnet took over the
operation in Albany. Leased power was immediately brought in to take care
of the power "outage".
Albany, Ga. February 2001. HATX 500 was actually the first leased engine I located on Railnet
in March 1999. A couple of years later, it picks up 2 Camas Prairie engines
from NS yard.
Adel, Ga; September 2000. HATX 502 and 517 were assigned the Perry job. It runs daily south as
soon as the CSX local out of Thomasville clears the line.
Albany, Ga. November 2000. This is the end for the unfortunate FEC 662 GP9. The engine was first
located in the yard in September 2000. Later, it was completely gutted
for parts.
Albany, Ga; February 2001. After a cross-country trip, the 2 Camas Prairie B23-7 end up at their
unlikely destination. HATX 500 comes to pick up the travelers from the
former COFG yard.
On the ready track are the 2 Camas Prairie, HATX 500, HLCX 3608 3618
and a bunch of GP10s.
Albany, Ga; February 2001. The first time I saw 3605 and 3618 was in August 1999, just a few months
after the Railnet take-over.
