GP 40X Hearne, Tx; November 2000. One of 23 ever built is on a SB grain train waiting for a crew, late
in the afternoon. This is the second of 6 from UP.
The UP GP40X series went through several renumberings: 9000-9005, 90-95,
954-959.In early 2000, they were supposed to get 5501-5505, but another
renumbering system came out in late 2000 which would give these the 9994-9998
slots. Confused yet!
Folkston, Ga; August 1999. HLCX 4300 is 1 of 4 ex SP (3 are left; one of the 4 was wrecked)
with the Bloomberg trucks.The rare bird is taking Q605 through Folkston
mid morning in August 1999.
It was close to midnight when it went through Tallahassee. It pays
to be at the right place at the right time!
