CSX TALLAHASSEE SUBDIVISION GENERAL FREIGHT II Drifton, Fl; January 1999. Q602 NASA.
For the entire fall of 1998, I run back on forth on the Tallahassee
and P&A sub after work to catch up with the NASA cars. I did catch
up with a couple of consists which used to run on Q102 back then but too
late for photos because of darkness falling earlier and earlier. On a Saturday
morning, surprisingly, it is Q602 that brings the oversize load. Here,
it meets Q101 in Drifton.
Tallahassee, Fl; January 1999. Q605
This Q605 has one of the most colorful consist ever seen in this part
of the land. CN 5258 is leading the charge. BNSF 5182 in its former SPSF
Kodachrome paintscheme is closing the march behind a SD45-2 from SP. These
2 last engines would be belonging to the same railroad with a successful
SPSF merger.
Quincy, Fl; January 1999. Q602
The above Q605 meets in Douglas City (Quincy) with this Q602 with another
wild consist too big for 1 shot. The last engine is a B23-7 in the Family
lines paintscheme.
Tallahassee, Fl; August 1999. Q601
A few months before the city decided to put a fence around this property,
which killed one of the very few remaining wide open shots in town, I get
this colorful consist. NYSW 4054 is an SD70M; UP is a C36-7 and CSX 1147
is an MP15.
Tallahassee, Fl; August 1999. Q601...straight from Omaha, NE again!!!
