CSX BOWLINE Savannah Sub: Savannah-Ogeechee Nahunta Sub: Ogeechee-Jesup (to Jacksonville) Jesup Sub: Jesup-Waycross (to Folkston) Thomasville Sub: Waycross-Thomasville. Dothan Sub: Thomasville-Montgomery. Banks, Al; March 2001. On my way back from chasing the AOE to Birmingham, I catch up with
this one down the hill from Troy to Dothan. After working the brakes hard,
the crew stops the train at the bottom of the hill. CSX 760 ex Conrail
has already been repainted. CSX 600, the original AC6000 has seen better
days.
Manor-Homerville, Ga; May 2001. In the middle of 30+ trains in a day in Waycross, I decide to chase
Q650 out on the Thomasville Subdivision. I intercept the train in Manor,
park the car and watch the train go by. CSX 7392 ex Conrail, CEFX
3131 in Blue Bird paintscheme and HLCX 581 in UP paintscheme are in charge
of the train. It is a hot day so I get back in the car and wait for the
train to go by so I can head back to Waycross for some more action. However,
the tail-end of the train has a surprise for me. The EOT is hooked up to
a caboose. I run to Homerville instead to capture the throw back in time.
Near Dupont, Ga; May 2001. After a monter day in Waycross, I head home. On the way, I find this
bridge under the light of the setting sun. The horns and the rumbles of
the engines from the day are still ringing in my hears.
