Part 3

Time is running out for me. Q685 takes a while to get its pick-ups so I start heading south, but I do not get very far. A little north of Talboton I run into Q684. I set up at the other bridge around Manchester at the Big Lazar Creek, but is as overgrown as the other one.

Wait a minute, this one has ... 10 engines. I head back to Talboton for a photo feast. It takes a while for the train to climb the hill, and then slows down even further to meet with Q685 in Woodland. CSX(YN2)7350, HLCX(BN)8170, EMDX6303, UP4804, GCFX3089, NS(CR)5344, CSX (YN2)8478, CSX (YN1?)8124, CSX (YN3)8731, CSX (YN2) 159. Ten engines, 8 different paint jobs, 6 railroads.

I video Q685 coming out of the siding then head back to Big Lazar Creek for another trial at the bridge.

On the way home, I stop by several places. The first one is Martin Marietta at Junction City. With the zoom from the road, that is as good as it gets for me.

I stop by the trash place and see 2 switchers, but cannot find anybody for permission, so photos will be for another day.

I also hit Tyson (same Alco S2 rebuilt) and Weyerhauser (SW1500? from Railservice: similar paint job as the switchers in Jacksonville; too far for a picture) in the Montezuma area.

I then head down the Andersonville trail for a shot at the depot.

In Americus, the old freight depot is now totally gone. Instead, I find these 2 veterans of the road one with the white eyebrows scheme.
Tried the shot against the sun anyway.
